Patna: The two-day Amity Film Festival 2026, organised by the Amity School of Communication at Amity University Patna, concluded on Friday with a closing ceremony that brought together filmmakers, students and media professionals.
The final day featured actor Chandan Roy, known for his role in the Panchayat series, as guest of honour. Addressing the audience, Roy spoke about his journey in the entertainment industry and encouraged aspiring creatives to pursue their ambitions with persistence.
Focus On Creativity And Opportunity
Speaking at the event, Anand Kaushal, senior journalist and media strategist, highlighted the growing opportunities in Bihar’s creative sector, pointing to supportive policies and the enthusiasm of young creators.
Vice-chancellor Vivekanand Pandey described the festival as a celebration of creativity, collaboration and cinematic expression.

Performances And Participation
The festival also featured a sub-event titled “Talent Treasure”, showcasing dance, music, painting and theatre performances, turning the campus into a hub of artistic activity.
More than 300 participants from around 50 schools and colleges across the country took part in the festival. Organisers said approximately 150 entries — including short films, reels and documentaries — were submitted.

Awards And Closing Ceremony
The event concluded with a valedictory session where winners across categories were honoured with awards, certificates and prizes.
Categories ranged from best short film and editing to performance-based competitions, reflecting the festival’s emphasis on diverse forms of storytelling and creative expression.

Organisers said the festival aimed to provide a platform for emerging talent while fostering a culture of filmmaking and media engagement among students.
