Patna: The state’s Energy Department will hold a special consumer grievance camp on Monday aimed at resolving electricity-related complaints within 72 hours, officials said.
The initiative, part of a wider series of camps conducted across Bihar during March and April, is intended to speed up the resolution of billing errors, supply disruptions and infrastructure-related complaints. According to the department, thousands of consumers have already benefited from similar camps held across electricity engineer offices in the state.
The upcoming camp, scheduled for the last Monday of April, will run from 11am to 2pm at all electricity engineer offices. Officials said complaints registered during the session will be processed on a priority basis, with a guaranteed resolution timeline of three days.
Issues to be addressed include corrections in electricity bills, reports of damaged or leaning poles, loose or unsafe wires, low voltage supply, and faulty transformers. Consumers will also be able to submit applications for new connections, name changes, smart prepaid meters and agricultural electricity connections. Information regarding the PM Surya Ghar Yojana will also be provided.
The department said bill payment facilities will be available on-site, allowing consumers to clear outstanding dues during the camp.
Authorities have urged consumers to bring relevant documents to ensure swift processing of their complaints and encouraged participation, describing the camps as a mechanism to “provide simple and immediate solutions” to electricity-related issues.
For further assistance, consumers have been advised to contact their nearest electricity office.
