Patna: Direct air links between Bihar and India’s financial capital are set to improve, with Air India Express announcing a new daily service connecting Patna and Mumbai from May 1.
The airline said the route will operate every day, adding to existing direct connections already served by IndiGo and Air India. The move is expected to ease travel for passengers who have faced limited options on one of the country’s busy domestic corridors.
Under the new schedule, flights will depart Mumbai at 12:00pm, arriving in Patna at 2:35pm. The return service will leave Patna at 3:05pm and land in Mumbai at 5:25pm. The journey typically takes between two and three hours.
Airfares on the route have generally ranged between Rs 8,000 and Rs 9,000, depending on demand and booking time, though prices may fluctuate with the addition of new services.
The expanded connectivity is likely to benefit a wide range of travellers, including business passengers, students and those seeking medical treatment in Mumbai’s hospitals. Increased frequency and more convenient timings are also expected to reduce travel disruptions and improve overall passenger experience.
For Patna, the new service marks another step in strengthening its air links with major metropolitan centres, as demand for faster and more reliable travel options continues to grow.
