Patna: The Bihar government has nominated 11 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers for an advanced training programme in a move aimed at strengthening administrative capacity and governance standards across the state.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the officers will attend the Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP) Phase III at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie from May 11 to June 5.
The selected officers belong to the 2015, 2016 and 2017 batches of the IAS. Among them are Vinay Kumar, additional secretary in the building construction department; Abhay Kumar Singh, additional secretary in the cooperative department; Amit Kumar, additional secretary at the Bihar Technical Service Commission; Rashid Kaleem Ansari, administrative officer in the general administration department; Vijay Kumar, additional secretary in the education department; and Rajesh Parimal, additional secretary in the chief minister’s secretariat.
Two serving district magistrates are also included in the list: Richie Pandey, district magistrate of Sitamarhi, and Anshul Kumar, district magistrate of Purnia. Other officers selected for the programme include Vaibhav Choudhary, Sanjay Kumar, additional secretary in the health department, and Abhay Jha, additional secretary in the rural works department.
The Mid-Career Training Programme is designed to equip IAS officers with skills required to address evolving policy and administrative challenges. It typically focuses on leadership development, governance practices and exposure to national and global administrative frameworks.
Officials said the nominations have been made in line with guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training under the central government, which oversees training and кадров development for civil servants.
The move comes as the state government seeks to enhance bureaucratic efficiency and align administrative practices with contemporary governance needs.
