Patna: Residents across Bihar have experienced relief from the recent heatwave as rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds swept through several districts, bringing down temperatures.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Friday, warning of thunderstorms, lightning and winds of up to 40 km/h across 33 districts.
Changing Weather Patterns
Cloud cover and intermittent rainfall were reported in several areas, including Patna, while early morning showers were recorded in Bagaha.
Meteorologists said the state is currently witnessing active pre-monsoon conditions, leading to fluctuating weather patterns and a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Rainfall And Strong Winds
Over the past 24 hours, heavy rainfall and strong winds were recorded in districts such as Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui.
Strong gusts were also reported in Saran, where winds disrupted normal activity.

Forecast And Alerts
Officials said unsettled weather conditions are expected to persist for the next four to five days, with rain and thunderstorms likely to continue until May 3.
The current conditions are attributed to atmospheric instability caused by a western disturbance combined with moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal.
Impact On Agriculture
While the rain has brought respite from heat, it has also caused damage to crops in some regions.
Farmers reported losses to mango and litchi crops, as strong winds led to fruit fall and branch damage.
Authorities have advised farmers and residents to avoid outdoor activities during thunderstorms and remain cautious due to the risk of lightning.
Relief From Heat
Despite the disruptions, the drop in temperature has provided relief to residents who had been facing intense heat in recent weeks.
Officials said the evolving weather pattern signals the gradual onset of pre-monsoon conditions across the state.
