Patna: Traffic movement along JP Ganga Path (Marine Drive) in Patna will be restricted over two days due to ongoing road repair work, with authorities announcing phased lane closures and diversions.
According to traffic police, the stretch between Digha roundabout and LCT Ghat will operate under a modified traffic plan on May 4 and 5, affecting both daytime and night-time movement.
One Lane Open On Monday
On Monday, vehicular movement will be restricted to a single lane along the corridor. Traffic on the northern flank — from Digha roundabout to LCT Ghat — will remain closed, with vehicles diverted to the southern flank.
Vehicles travelling from Digha towards Gai Ghat will be rerouted via the southern side of the road between the Digha rotary and LCT Ghat.
Full Closure Of Opposite Lane On Tuesday
On Tuesday, authorities will reverse the arrangement. Movement on the southern flank — from LCT Ghat to Digha — will be suspended, with traffic diverted to the northern flank.
Vehicles approaching from the Gai Ghat side will be redirected accordingly from LCT Ghat.
Timings Of Restrictions
The traffic management plan will be enforced during two time slots: from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and from 10:00pm to 4:00am on both days.
Officials said the measures are necessary to ensure safe and timely completion of repair work on the busy riverfront road, which is a key arterial route in the city.
