Aurangabad/Patna: The driver and personal assistant of RJD MP Abhay Kumar Sinha alias Abhay Kushwaha were allegedly assaulted after the MP’s SUV was stopped near Hasanwar village in Aurangabad district on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 8 pm under the Madanpur police station area. According to initial information, the MP was not inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Dispute reportedly over road access
Local sources said the altercation began following a dispute over moving vehicles on the road during a wedding procession.
The attackers allegedly stopped the SUV and assaulted driver Navlesh Kumar and the MP’s personal assistant Sanjay Kumar. They were also allegedly abused verbally and prevented from moving the vehicle forward.
Wedding procession vehicle allegedly blocked route
According to the MP’s personal assistant, a car carrying the groom was parked in front of their vehicle, blocking the road.
He said they were returning from Shridih village in Madanpur when the incident took place near Hasanwar village.
Police yet to issue detailed statement
No official statement had been issued by the police regarding arrests or further action at the time of publication. Further investigation into the incident is under way.
