Muzaffarpur: A major industrial project is set to take shape in Muzaffarpur as Ambuja Cements prepares to invest more than Rs 1,100 crore in a new cement manufacturing unit. The project has received initial approval from the State Investment Promotion Board and is being seen as one of the biggest industrial investments in the district in recent years. State officials say the move could bring new momentum to Bihar’s efforts to expand industries and attract large companies to the state.
The proposed plant will be built in the Mahwal industrial area of Muzaffarpur. According to officials, the unit will have a production capacity of 8,219 metric tonnes per day. This large-scale facility is expected to support the construction sector in Bihar and nearby regions, where demand for cement has been increasing because of road building, housing projects and public works. The company is expected to use modern machinery and updated technology to ensure better production and environmental standards.
The new investment is part of Bihar’s wider plan to strengthen its industrial base. Many believe the project could also encourage more industries to come to Muzaffarpur and nearby districts in the coming years.
