Patna: Bihar government has awarded Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan a cash prize of Rs. One crore for his contribution to India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The cheque was presented on Friday by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who also wished the cricketer success in his future career.
Sharing photographs from the event on social media platform X, Choudhary said Kishan had brought pride to both Bihar and the country through his performance on the international stage.

Recognition for Bihar’s emerging cricket talent
Senior state officials, including Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit and Deepak Kumar, were present during the felicitation ceremony.
The recognition comes amid growing attention on young cricketers from Bihar making an impact at national and international levels.
Earlier, young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also honoured by the state government with a cash reward of Rs. 50 lakh for his performances at a young age.
Push for sports development in Bihar
People associated with the sports sector said such incentives could encourage greater participation among young athletes in the state.
