Patna: Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited has commissioned the 400 kV Buxar Thermal Power Project–Naubatpur transmission line, marking a key expansion of the state’s electricity transmission network. The line, which stretches about 126 kilometres, is now the longest 400 kV line in the company’s network.
205 MW Now Flowing Through New Line
Officials said 205 MW of electricity is currently being transmitted from the Buxar Thermal Power Project to Naubatpur through the newly energised Circuit-I. The project is expected to improve transmission capacity and support rising demand across the state.
The company said the line will strengthen grid reliability, reduce transmission constraints and support uninterrupted supply in several parts of Bihar as energy consumption increases.
Officials Highlight Infrastructure Push
Ajay Yadav, secretary of the energy department and chairman-cum-managing director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, said the project was an important step towards strengthening Bihar’s transmission system and meeting growing electricity demand.
He said the state government’s priority remains uninterrupted and reliable power supply for consumers, and that transmission projects were central to this strategy.
Network Expansion Plans Continue
Rahul Kumar said the commissioning reflected BSPTCL’s ongoing efforts to modernise Bihar’s transmission infrastructure. He said the company would continue expanding its transmission capacity as part of long-term energy planning.
Officials said the project forms part of Bihar’s broader investment in transmission and grid infrastructure to support industrial growth and urban expansion in the coming years.
