Patna/Gaya: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) on Tuesday organised the ‘Samarthya’ career and skill development programme at the Haridas Seminary Auditorium in Gaya district, with participation from more than 600 students from schools and colleges across the region.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the district administration of Gaya and Magadh University. Its primary focus was to familiarise students with Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging career opportunities, skill development initiatives and scholarship schemes.
Focus on Future Skills and AI Awareness
Addressing the inaugural session, Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna, said the initiative aimed to connect Bihar’s youth with modern skills and future-ready opportunities.

He said the institute’s objective extended beyond conventional education and focused on empowering students to become self-confident and capable of facing future challenges. He added that awareness of emerging technologies such as AI had become essential for young people.
Kumar also thanked the Vice-Chancellor of Magadh University, the District Magistrate of Gaya, the District Education Officer, teachers, faculty members and students for contributing to the programme’s success.
Interactive Sessions on Artificial Intelligence
During the event, CIMP faculty members Prof Rajashree Pillai and Prof Priya Nath conducted interactive sessions on Artificial Intelligence. The sessions covered the fundamentals of AI, its practical applications and its growing relevance across sectors.
Students participated actively in discussions and raised questions regarding the role of AI in future careers and industries.
Prof Dr Ankit Sharma also addressed students on management education opportunities available at CIMP, career prospects and government scholarship schemes. He encouraged participants to pursue higher education and skill development to strengthen their career prospects.
Workshops, Counselling and Skill Mapping Activities
According to organisers, the ‘Samarthya’ programme seeks to identify student talent and guide participants towards suitable career pathways.
The event included AI-based workshops, skill mapping exercises, career counselling sessions, scholarship awareness programmes and certificate distribution ceremonies.
District Magistrate Highlights Importance of AI
Gaya District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankhar attended the concluding session as chief guest.
Addressing students, he said AI had evolved beyond a technological concept and was increasingly shaping sectors such as education, healthcare, administration, industry and employment.
He said it was important to familiarise students with emerging technologies so they could prepare themselves for future opportunities and challenges.

The District Magistrate also appreciated CIMP for organising what he described as a future-oriented programme for students in Gaya district. He said initiatives such as ‘Samarthya’ helped build confidence, awareness and a progressive outlook among young people.
He added that Bihar’s youth possessed significant potential and required proper guidance, opportunities and access to modern skills.
Winners Honoured During Closing Ceremony
During the concluding session, certificates were distributed to participants of the AI workshop, while students who performed well in programme competitions were also honoured.
In the undergraduate category, Swati Kumari secured first position, followed by Shrishti Singh in second place and Geetanjali in third.
In the Class 12 category, Fatima Rahman secured first position, Akash Kumar came second and Happy Kumar finished third.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Dr Ankit Sharma, who described ‘Samarthya’ as part of a broader initiative aimed at preparing Bihar’s youth for a rapidly changing world through technical awareness, confidence-building and skill development.
