Patna: The Bihar government has provisionally selected 9,347 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana for the financial year 2025–26 through a computerised randomisation process, officials said on Wednesday.
The selection process was conducted under the supervision of Bihar Industries and Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh. The state government said applications received for 74 identified projects were processed according to district-wise targets.
The scheme aims to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among youth, women, and socially disadvantaged groups across Bihar.
Category-Wise Distribution of Beneficiaries
According to the Industries Department, the selected applicants include 2,000 beneficiaries each from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category, Extremely Backward Class category, women category, and youth category.
In addition, 1,247 beneficiaries from minority communities and 100 differently-abled applicants have also been selected provisionally.
Officials said 30 per cent of applications, category-wise and district-wise, would also be placed on a waiting list.
Final List to Be Released After Verification
The department stated that the final list of beneficiaries will be published on the Udyami Portal after scrutiny and verification of documents submitted by applicants.
Following the completion of mandatory training, selected beneficiaries will receive project assistance amounting to nearly Rs 910.25 crore in three instalments, in line with scheme guidelines.
Ministers Highlight Employment and Self-Reliance
Minister for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Lakhendra Kumar Raushan said the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana was emerging as an important platform for generating employment and promoting self-reliance among youth from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Shreyasi Singh said the initiative was designed to strengthen entrepreneurship among youth, women, and underprivileged sections of society. She added that the technology-enabled and transparent selection mechanism was helping ensure equal opportunity for eligible applicants.
Department Emphasises Transparent Process
Secretary of the Industries Department and Managing Director of BIADA and IDA, Kundan Kumar, said the department had implemented a transparent and accountable selection process supported by technology.
He added that the government was working to support selected applicants through training, mentorship, and financial assistance to help them establish sustainable enterprises.
Online applications for the 2025–26 cycle of the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana were invited through the Udyami Portal between February 15 and March 23, 2026.
The programme was attended by Director of MSME Directorate Aman Sameer, Director of Handloom and Silk Directorate Vidyanand Singh, Director of Industries Mukul Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials.
