Patna: A review meeting of the Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation and the Bihar Heritage Development Committee was held on Friday under the chairmanship of minister Pramod Kumar.
The meeting focused on issues related to film production, the state’s film policy, departmental schemes and the conservation and promotion of Bihar’s heritage sites.
Senior departmental officials and representatives from related institutions attended the meeting.
Push to expand film shooting locations in Bihar
During the discussion, the minister stressed the need to further expand opportunities for film shooting in Bihar.
He directed officials to identify new and attractive locations across the state and include them on the department’s official website to promote Bihar as a preferred destination for film production.
Officials said the minister also suggested several potential locations that could be developed for future shooting projects.

Dialogue planned with film students
The minister also instructed the officials to organise a special interaction programme with students and beneficiaries associated with film studies under the department’s scholarship and assistance schemes.
He said feedback and experiences shared by students would help improve future film education and support programmes in the state.
Discussion on heritage and tourism development
The meeting also reviewed the progress of departmental schemes linked to heritage conservation, tourism development and cultural outreach.
Officials discussed measures aimed at preserving historical sites while increasing public engagement with Bihar’s cultural heritage.

Among those present at the meeting were Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation general manager Ruby, IAS, and Museums Directorate director Krishna Kumar, IAS, along with other departmental officials.
