Hajipur: A meeting of the Divisional Parliamentary Committee of the Sonpur Division was held in Hajipur, bringing together Members of Parliament (MPs) from the region along with senior officials of the railway administration.

The meeting was chaired by MP from Saran, Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

Key Participants

Among those present were Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, MP from Vaishali Veena Devi, MP from Katihar Tariq Anwar, and MP from Khagaria Rajesh Verma.

Representatives of other Union ministers and MPs also attended the meeting, including delegates on behalf of Giriraj Singh, Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai, and Ajay Kumar Mandal.

Senior railway officials present included General Manager of East Central Railway East Central Railway Chhatrasal Singh, Additional General Manager Amarendra Kumar, and Divisional Railway Manager Amit Saran.

Focus on Railway Development

During the meeting, MPs raised suggestions related to improving passenger amenities, strengthening infrastructure, and enhancing operational efficiency across the Sonpur Division.

Discussions also included proposals for the stoppage of certain trains at selected stations, alongside broader concerns regarding connectivity and regional service improvements.

Railway Administration Briefing

The General Manager of East Central Railway briefed the committee on ongoing projects in the Sonpur Division. These included developments in passenger facilities, infrastructure expansion, and other operational upgrades.

Officials also presented updates on future plans aimed at improving rail services in the region.
