Patna: Online services related to electricity consumers across Bihar will remain temporarily suspended for 12 hours from 5:00 PM on June 6 to 5:00 AM on June 7 due to network maintenance work being carried out by the power distribution companies.
According to a press release issued on June 5, the maintenance work is being undertaken by the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited to improve digital service infrastructure.
Consumer Services to Be Affected
During the maintenance period, consumers will not be able to access any online electricity-related services.
The services that will remain unavailable include electricity bill payments, smart prepaid meter recharges, applications for new electricity connections, load enhancement or reduction requests, name change applications, and bill correction services.
Consumers Advised to Complete Transactions in Advance
The two power distribution companies have urged consumers to complete necessary electricity bill payments and smart prepaid recharges before the suspension period begins.
Officials said this would help consumers avoid inconvenience during the maintenance window when online platforms will not be operational.
Upgrade Aimed at Improving Digital Services
The companies stated that the temporary suspension is necessary to carry out essential network maintenance work aimed at strengthening service delivery.
They said that once the upgrade is completed, consumers will benefit from more secure, faster, and modern digital services.
The companies also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and requested consumers’ cooperation during the maintenance period.
