Gaya/Patna: Police in Gaya district are investigating the death of a government school teacher whose body was recovered near a railway track between Belaganj and Chakand railway stations on the Patna-Gaya rail section..
According to police, information about the body was received late on Saturday, following which officers reached the spot and recovered the remains. The body was subsequently sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Victim identified as government school teacher
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Mohammad Khairuddin, a resident of Alipur village under Buniyadganj police station limits.
Police said he was employed as a teacher in a government primary school and was posted at a municipal primary school in Pathan Toli under Ward No. 48.
Circumstances under investigation
Investigators said the deceased’s legs were found tied with a cloth when the body was recovered.
Officials stated that the circumstances surrounding the death appeared suspicious and that all possible angles were being examined. The exact cause of death and the sequence of events leading to the incident have not yet been established.
Police collecting evidence
Police teams are questioning local residents and gathering evidence from the area where the body was found.
Belaganj police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem examination and other forensic and technical evidence collected during the investigation.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the case so far.
