Samastipur/Patna: Indian Railways has extended the operation of summer special trains running between Barauni and New Delhi, and Darbhanga and New Delhi, in response to increased passenger demand during the peak summer travel season.
According to a railway notification, the extension will allow both services to operate for an additional 45 trips, providing extra travel capacity for passengers from North Bihar heading to the national capital.
Barauni–New Delhi special to run till 15 July
Train No. 02563 Barauni–New Delhi Express will continue operations until 15 July. The return service, Train No. 02564 New Delhi–Barauni Express, will run until July 16.
The extension is expected to benefit passengers from Barauni, Samastipur and neighbouring districts who rely on the route for travel to Delhi.
Darbhanga–New Delhi service also extended
Railways has also extended the operation of Train No. 02569 Darbhanga–New Delhi Express until July 15. Its return service, Train No. 02570 New Delhi–Darbhanga Express, will continue until July 16.
Passengers from Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur and Sitamarhi are expected to benefit from the additional services.
No change in route or timetable
Railway authorities said there will be no changes to the existing timetable, route or stoppages of either train. Both services will continue to operate according to their current schedules.
The move is aimed at reducing pressure on regular services and improving reservation availability during the busy travel period.
Coaches and onboard capacity
Each train will operate with 18 coaches, comprising one generator-cum-luggage van, one LSLRD coach, four sleeper coaches, five AC Third Economy coaches and seven AC Third Class coaches.
Advisory for passengers
Railways has advised passengers to check train schedules and operational updates before travelling. Officials said the extension is intended to provide safer and more convenient travel options for thousands of passengers from North Bihar during the summer season.
