Patna: A miniature version of Golghar, built from scrap metal, has been installed at JP Ganga Path in Patna as part of an urban beautification and tourism initiative.
The installation, made entirely from old bicycle and motorcycle chains, has begun drawing visitors to the riverfront stretch.
Placed along the route towards Gandhi Maidan, the structure measures around 50 inches in width and 63 inches in height. It has been positioned opposite a point from where the original Golghar is visible, allowing visitors to view and photograph both together.
Waste-to-art installation
Alongside the mini Golghar, another sculpture depicting a deer has been created using discarded steel spoons.
The installations form part of a waste-to-wonder theme aimed at transforming scrap and unused metal into public art.
Officials said a dolphin sculpture is also planned and will be installed between the Golghar and deer artworks in the coming weeks.
Riverfront development under way
The installations are part of broader redevelopment work being carried out by Patna Smart City Limited at JP Ganga Path.
The agency is developing the stretch as a modern tourist destination, with landscaping, green spaces, seating areas and improved public amenities.
Decorative lighting and organised vending spaces are also being added as part of the project.
New walkway for visitors
A 550-metre zig-zag walkway has also been developed along the riverfront.
Officials said the walkway has been designed on the lines of Juhu Chowpatty in Mumbai, with a focus on leisure, walking and photography.
With views of the Ganga and new public installations, the stretch is gradually emerging as a popular evening destination for residents and visitors.
