Patna: The Mukhyamantri Atyant Pichda Warg Civil Seva Protsahan Yojana, implemented by the Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department of Bihar, has recorded notable outcomes in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination, with 101 beneficiaries securing final selection.
The department shared the data on June 22, highlighting the performance of candidates supported under the scheme designed to provide financial assistance for civil services preparation.
Scheme Details and Financial Support
According to official figures, 2,164 applications were received from candidates who had cleared the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination and sought assistance for Mains preparation.
Out of these, 2,095 eligible candidates received direct benefit transfer of Rs 50,000 each under the scheme’s provisions.
Performance in Examination Stages
Among the beneficiaries, 386 candidates qualified for the Mains examination after receiving financial assistance. Following the interview stage, 101 candidates were placed on the final merit list.
Of the selected candidates, 14 secured positions in the Bihar Administrative Service (BAS), while 12 were selected for the Bihar Police Service (BPS). The remaining candidates have been allotted various other state services.

Among the top performers, four beneficiaries secured ranks within the top 100 in the examination.

Department’s Statement
The department expressed appreciation for the performance of all selected candidates and extended best wishes for their future roles in public service. It described the outcome as an indicator of the scheme’s role in supporting aspirants from Extremely Backward Classes in competitive examinations.
Officials said the results reflect improved access to resources for civil services preparation among eligible candidates under the welfare initiative.
