Patna Women’s College Inaugurates Substance Abuse Prevention Cell and Mental Well-being Club

Patna: Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, inaugurated its Substance Abuse Prevention Cell and Mental Well-being Club in a successful event. Dr. Mridul Mishra, Nodal Officer of the Substance Abuse Prevention Cell and Head of the Department of Social Work, welcomed the Chief Guest, Shabnam Fatima, International Fellow of the Ford Foundation and Consultant at UNICEF. Dr. Mishra introduced the functioning of the new cell, while Dr. Nupur Sinha, Coordinator of the Mental Well-being Club and Head of the Department of Psychology, outlined the club’s aims and objectives.

The session included an interactive discussion led by Ms. Shabnam Fatima on the use and abuse of substances, emphasizing prevention strategies. The logos of both the Substance Abuse Prevention Cell and the WellNest – Mental Well-being Club were officially unveiled by the Chief Guest. Members of the Mental Well-being Club also took a pledge to uphold their commitment to mental health and substance abuse prevention.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Sister S. Sanjana A.C., Member Secretary of the Substance Abuse Prevention Cell and Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work. The session was moderated by Prity, a student from the Department of Social Work. The event was attended by Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaboration at Patna Women’s College, along with faculty members and members of the Substance Abuse Prevention Cell from various departments.
