Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday organised a special counselling session for the children of sanitation workers under its Mission Udaan initiative, providing guidance on preparing for some of India’s most competitive entrance and recruitment examinations.
Held at Maurya Mandapam in the Maurya Lok complex, the programme brought together 75 students aspiring to appear for examinations including the UPSC, BPSC, NEET and JEE.
Guidance On Competitive Examinations
Senior municipal officials conducted detailed sessions on the structure and syllabus of various competitive examinations, while also explaining preparation strategies, study resources and effective learning methods.
Students were advised on time management, regular revision, note-making techniques, the importance of mock tests and approaches to building confidence before examinations.
The session also provided an opportunity for students to seek guidance on career planning and examination strategies.

Focus On Communication Skills
Radio Mirchi presenter RJ Shashi, who attended the event as a special guest, addressed students on communication skills, personality development and interview preparation.
Drawing on his professional experiences, he encouraged participants to develop confidence, improve their language skills and strengthen their ability to express ideas effectively during interviews and other stages of competitive examinations.
Interactive Session
The programme included an interactive discussion during which students raised questions on study materials, preparation techniques, career opportunities and time management.
Municipal officials shared their own experiences of competitive examinations and responded to the students’ queries with practical advice and encouragement.
The event was attended by Deepak Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rajan Sinha, Deputy Municipal Commissioners Ramashish Sharan Tiwari and Jaya, Executive Engineer Sushil Jha, and other senior officials of the civic body.

The Patna Municipal Corporation said Mission Udaan is designed to support the educational and social advancement of sanitation workers’ families by providing talented students with academic guidance, mentoring and access to resources for competitive examinations.
Officials said the initiative reflects the civic body’s broader objective of supporting educational opportunities alongside its municipal responsibilities, with the aim of helping students pursue higher education and public service careers.
