Patna: Police have deployed five personnel for round-the-clock security at the residence of Bharat Tiwari’s family following a complaint alleging that an unidentified vehicle without a registration number was seen outside their home at night.
The decision was taken by Jagdishpur DSP Pankaj Kumar Mishra after visiting the family on Sunday. During the visit, Bharat Tiwari’s mother, Asha Devi, submitted a written complaint seeking police protection and requesting an investigation into the alleged surveillance.
Security Strengthened Following Complaint
Following the complaint, the police stationed five personnel outside the family’s residence, including armed constables, a police officer and a village guard (chowkidar). The deployment is intended to provide continuous security to the family.
DSP Pankaj Kumar Mishra said the family’s written application has been received and an investigation is underway. He added that further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
Family Seeks Identification of Vehicle
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, members of Bharat Tiwari’s family urged the administration to identify the vehicle and its occupants by examining CCTV footage from the area.
The family also submitted additional demands to the authorities, saying they expected timely action on the matter.
Mother Announces Hunger Strike Plan
The family said that if their demands are not addressed within the stipulated timeframe, Bharat Tiwari’s mother, Asha Devi, will begin an indefinite hunger strike from July 9.
According to the family, the proposed protest is aimed at securing what they describe as a fair investigation into the case.
Demand for Arrest of Suspected Personnel
Bharat Tiwari’s sister, Ruby Devi, said the family is seeking the immediate arrest of police officers and personnel whom they suspect were involved in the incident.
She also called for an impartial investigation, stating that the family would continue pursuing legal and administrative remedies until they receive justice.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bharat Tiwari’s encounter remains ongoing. Police have not publicly commented on the family’s allegations beyond confirming receipt of the complaint and the deployment of security personnel.
