Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has strengthened security arrangements for the 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination, introducing stricter surveillance and monitoring measures to prevent irregularities. The examination is scheduled for July 26 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM across designated centres in the state.
CCTV And Jammers To Be Monitored Every 15 Minutes
Under the revised protocol, CCTV cameras, jammers and other technical equipment installed at examination centres will be checked every 15 minutes. Officials will maintain a monitoring log throughout the examination process.
The Commission has directed that special invigilators be deployed to oversee the functioning of surveillance equipment and ensure continuous monitoring until the examination begins.
Inspection Teams To Be Finalised Shortly Before Exam
To maintain confidentiality, the Commission will share the list of inspection personnel with examination centres only 14 hours before the examination. It has also issued instructions to District Magistrates regarding coordination with agencies responsible for biometric verification, CCTV systems and jammers.
Under the new rules, inspection personnel will not be allowed to leave the examination centre after entering until the examination has concluded.
Centre-Level Monitoring And Reporting
Each examination centre will have a CCTV control unit supervised by the Centre Superintendent. Officials will prepare a detailed report on the inspection and functioning of surveillance equipment and submit it to the Commission after the examination.
Centre Superintendents have also been instructed to provide complete information on CCTV cameras, jammers and other technical infrastructure installed at their respective centres.
Identity Verification Mandatory
Candidates will undergo photo identity verification before entering examination centres. Biometric authentication will also be compulsory as part of the Commission’s enhanced security arrangements.
The BPSC has advised candidates to reach their examination centres at least one hour before the scheduled start time. As the examination falls on a Sunday, the Commission expects travel-related inconvenience for candidates to be relatively limited.
