Patna: Janshakti Janata Dal Leader Tej Pratap Yadav has claimed that his life is under serious threat, saying he has been receiving repeated threatening phone calls in recent days.
In a post on X, Tej Pratap said he had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Bihar Director General of Police and the Bihar Home Secretary on September 9, seeking adequate security in view of the alleged threats.
“I, Tej Pratap Yadav, have been facing continuous, serious threats over the past few days. I am receiving repeated threatening phone calls, which has created a grave threat to my life,” he said.
Tej Pratap also said he had lodged an FIR at the Secretariat police station in Patna regarding the alleged threats.
Calls for action against those making threats
Tej Pratap urged both the central and Bihar governments to take immediate cognisance of the matter and provide him with adequate security.
He also demanded that the individuals allegedly making the threatening calls be identified and that strict legal action be taken against them.
“Given the persistent threats, there is serious concern regarding my safety,” Tej Pratap said, adding that he expected the authorities to ensure his protection and take necessary legal action.
