Baba Siddiqui’s Educational Legacy in Bihar: Over 12,000 Children Benefited

Gopalganj: NCP leader Baba Ziauddin Siddiqui, who was shot dead in Mumbai, had deep ties to Gopalganj, Bihar, where his family originally hails from. Baba Siddiqui, the elder son of Abdul Rahim Siddiqui, made significant contributions to education in Bihar by opening 40 free education centers to help underprivileged children. His nephew, Mohammad Gufran, revealed that Baba had recently promised to visit Gopalganj after the Maharashtra elections.

Baba Siddiqui first visited his ancestral village, Sheikhtoli, in Gopalganj in 2008, after spending 30 years away. During that visit, he established the Abdul Rahim Siddiqui Memorial Trust and set up education centers in 40 districts of Bihar, benefiting over 12,000 children. He had a vision to uplift Bihar through education, a cause close to his heart.

His last visit to the village was in 2018, and he had intended to return in September this year to inspect the education centers. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he couldn’t make the trip. Despite his success in Mumbai, where he served as an MLA from Bandra East and held a ministerial position, Baba Siddiqui remained deeply connected to his roots in Gopalganj.

Baba Siddiqui’s family, who relocated to Mumbai 50 years ago, still maintains a strong bond with Bihar. His contributions to education in the state continue to impact thousands of students, fulfilling his long-held dream of giving back to his village and the people of Bihar.
