Patna : The Bihar Cabinet has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Taiyo AI India Pvt. Ltd. and the Information Technology Department, Bihar, to strengthen artificial intelligence-driven development across the state.
Information Technology Minister Nitish Mishra said the partnership is aimed at building a robust and innovation-focused AI ecosystem and positioning Bihar as a leading state in Artificial Intelligence, technology and innovation.
AI to Support Government Projects
According to the minister, the proposed collaboration will provide technical support for identifying, prioritising, planning, monitoring and implementing public infrastructure projects across different sectors.
AI-based tools will be used to analyse data and improve decision-making related to public projects. The initiative is expected to make governance and project management more data-driven, efficient and result-oriented.
AI Dashboard to Track Project Delays
A key component of the proposed partnership will be the development of an AI-Enabled Public Infrastructure Dashboard.
The dashboard will use Early Warning Indicators to identify potential delays and cost overruns in infrastructure projects. This is intended to help government departments take corrective measures at an early stage and improve the monitoring of ongoing projects.
The system is also expected to support more efficient utilisation of public funds by providing timely information on project implementation.
Geospatial and Demographic Data to Aid Planning
The government plans to use AI to analyse geospatial mapping, demographic information and other available datasets for infrastructure planning.
According to the Information Technology Department, such analysis could improve the planning, construction and monitoring of civil infrastructure projects and strengthen data-based decision-making.
Government Officials to Receive AI Training
The initiative will also focus on developing the AI capabilities of government employees.
Officials will be trained in digital governance and the effective use of artificial intelligence, with the objective of strengthening the state’s capacity to adopt emerging technologies in public administration.
AI and Data Analytics Skills for Youth
Alongside government capacity building, the proposed collaboration will include skill development programmes in AI and data analytics.
The programmes are expected to target students, young people and women in Bihar, with the broader aim of improving technology-related skills and creating employment opportunities in emerging sectors.
Government Targets AI-Driven Development
Nitish Mishra said Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform social and economic development and make public administration more responsive.
The government intends to use AI across areas such as governance, public infrastructure, project management and human resource development while simultaneously building the state’s technological workforce.
The MoU with Taiyo AI India is expected to provide a framework for AI-driven governance, smarter infrastructure monitoring, technological innovation and employment-oriented skill development in Bihar.
