Patna: North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) emerged as the winner of the Inter-Company Table Tennis Tournament 2026 held at the Indoor Hall of Vidyut Bhawan, Patna. Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) secured the runner-up position.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and competitive matches across both men’s and women’s categories.

Om Prakash and Preeti Win Singles Titles
In the men’s singles category, Om Prakash emerged as the champion, while Preeti won the women’s singles title. Anamika finished as the runner-up in the women’s singles category.
In men’s doubles, Ranjit Kumar and Manish Kumar secured the title. Ajit Prakash and Shakti Saurabh finished as runners-up.
NBPDCL Defeats BSPTCL in Team Competition
In the team competition among subsidiaries of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), NBPDCL defeated BSPTCL to claim the overall championship title.
The winning players were presented with trophies and honours at the conclusion of the tournament.
Senior Officials Present at the Event
Energy Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BSPHCL, Ajay Yadav (IAS), attended the event as the Chief Guest. Managing Director of BSPGCL, Vishal Raj (IAS), was present as the Guest of Honour.
The officials felicitated the winning players and recognised their performances during the tournament.
Young Table Tennis Players Honoured
Two promising state-level table tennis players, Kumari Ananya and Riyanshi Gupta, were also honoured by Energy Secretary Ajay Yadav.
They were presented with mementoes in recognition of their sporting talent and achievements.
Sports Promote Team Spirit and Work Efficiency
Speaking at the event, Ajay Yadav said sports play an important role beyond physical fitness. According to him, sporting activities help develop team spirit, discipline and a positive work culture.
He added that such events create enthusiasm among employees, strengthen workplace unity and contribute to improving energy and efficiency at work.
