Patna: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast changing weather conditions across Bihar over the next few days, with rain, thunderstorms and lightning expected in several districts from September 5 to 7.
The weather forecast indicates that the impact will be particularly noticeable across north, north-eastern and parts of eastern Bihar. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued for different districts depending on the day.
The IMD forecast also indicates the possibility of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning from September 5 to 8.
IMD Orange Alert For Five Districts On September 5
On September 5, an orange alert has been issued for West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran.
A yellow alert has been issued for Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Vaishali and Samastipur.
Rain along with thunder and lightning is expected in these areas. Residents in the affected districts have been advised to remain cautious during periods of thunderstorms.
Most districts of south Bihar are not under a weather alert for September 5.
Yellow Alert In 19 Districts On September 6
On September 6, the weather impact is expected to spread across a larger part of north and eastern Bihar.
The IMD forecast has a yellow alert for West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka and Jamui.
Along with rain, strong winds and lightning are also expected in these districts.
Meanwhile, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran, along with several districts of south and central Bihar, are not under an alert for the day.
IMD Yellow Alert Continues In Several Districts On September 7
On September 7, a yellow alert has been issued for several districts in north Bihar.
These include West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Vaishali and Samastipur.
The alert also covers Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka and Jamui.
Several eastern districts, including Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj and Saharsa, are expected to remain under a green alert on September 7, indicating that no weather warning has been issued for these areas.
Rain And Thunderstorms Likely Through September 8
The IMD’s Bihar forecast indicates that rain, thunder and lightning may continue through September 8.
The district-wise alerts are expected to help residents and local authorities prepare for the changing weather conditions. Particular caution is required in areas covered by alerts because of the possibility of lightning and thunderstorms.
