Patna: Dr Diwakar Tejaswi, Medical Director and Senior Physician at PAHAL (Public Awareness for Healthful Approach for Living), was conferred the Bihar Kesari Samman-2026 at an honour ceremony held in Kankarbagh, Patna, on September 4, the eve of Teachers’ Day.
The award was presented by Bihar Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar at a ceremony organised by the Sargam Kala evam Samaj Kalyan Manch.
Recognition for medicine and social welfare
Speaking at the event, Shravan Kumar praised Tejaswi for his contributions to healthcare as well as his social service initiatives.
The minister said combining medical practice with sustained efforts for social causes provided an inspiring example for society. He particularly highlighted Tejaswi’s efforts to improve access to healthcare for needy and underprivileged people and his commitment to social responsibilities.
The ceremony was conducted by Vishwamohan Chaudhary ‘Sant’ of the Sargam Kala evam Samaj Kalyan Manch. Dignitaries from different fields and social activists attended the programme.
‘A source of pride and inspiration’
After receiving the award, Tejaswi described the Bihar Kesari Samman as a matter of pride and said the recognition would motivate him to work with greater dedication towards society and humanity.
He said he would continue his efforts in both medical service and social welfare with the same commitment.
The event also focused on the role of teachers in nation-building and social development, with the ceremony being held on the eve of Teachers’ Day.
