Patna: In a relief for passengers travelling during the festive season, the Railways has announced additional stoppages for the Bhagalpur-Delhi Junction festival special train.
The special train, which will run via the Gaya-Sasaram rail section, will stop at Dehri-on-Sone and Sasaram Junction in Rohtas district. It will also halt at Rafiganj, Anugrah Narayan Road and Bhabua Road between Gaya and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
According to the railway notification, the special train will operate from October 10 to November 27, 2026.
Bhagalpur-Delhi train to make five additional stops
The train will provide stoppages at five stations on the Gaya-DDU section:
- Rafiganj
- Anugrah Narayan Road
- Dehri-on-Sone
- Sasaram Junction
- Bhabua Road
The additional stoppages are expected to benefit passengers travelling between Bhagalpur, Delhi, Gaya, Sasaram, Dehri and surrounding areas during the festive period.
Bhagalpur departure time
Train number 04061 will depart from Bhagalpur at 4:30 pm during its scheduled operating period.
As per the timetable, it will reach Dehri-on-Sone at 12:23 am, Sasaram Junction at 12:40 am and Bhabua Road at 1:13 am.
The additional service is expected to provide passengers with another option for travelling towards Delhi during the festive rush.
Delhi-Bhagalpur return timings
On the return journey, train number 04062 will leave Delhi at 11:45 am and reach the Bihar stations in the early hours of the following day.
The train will arrive at Bhabua Road at 3:52 am, Sasaram Junction at 4:25 am and Dehri-on-Sone at 4:50 am.
With the festive season expected to bring a surge in passenger demand, the additional stoppages could make travel more convenient for people from Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya and neighbouring areas.
The Railways has issued the notification regarding the operation and stoppages of the festival special train, providing passengers with an additional travel option between Bihar and Delhi during the festive period.
