Patna: The Railways has announced eight special train services on routes connecting Bihar with major cities ahead of the Chhath and Diwali festive season.
The additional services are aimed at meeting increased passenger demand and easing pressure on regular trains during the festival period. The trains will connect destinations including Raxaul, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Danapur, Jogbani and Bhagalpur.
Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus
Train Nos 05557/05558 will operate between Raxaul and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus every Tuesday and Thursday from September 22 to November 26, making 10 trips.
The train will have four General, four Sleeper, six AC 3-Tier, two AC 2-Tier and one AC First-cum-Second Class coach.
Muzaffarpur–Hadapsar
Train Nos 05589/05590 will run between Muzaffarpur and Hadapsar in Pune every Tuesday and Thursday from September 22 to November 26, with 10 trips.
The service will comprise two General, eight Sleeper, eight AC 3-Tier, one Economy and one AC First-cum-Second Class coach.
Saharsa–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus
Train Nos 05585/05586 will operate every Friday and Sunday from September 18 to November 29, completing 11 trips.
The train will have four General, eight Sleeper, six AC 3-Tier and two Economy Class coaches.
New Delhi–Darbhanga Festival Special
Train Nos 04098/04097 will begin operations on November 10 as a Festival Special Express.
The train will travel via Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Narkatiaganj, Motihari and Muzaffarpur before reaching Darbhanga and will return along the same route.
New Delhi–Danapur Special
Train Nos 04089/04090, already operating between New Delhi and Danapur, will have its service period extended.
The weekly superfast special will make eight trips between October 2 and October 21, providing additional connectivity between Delhi and Bihar during the festive period.
New Delhi–Howrah Special
Train Nos 04051/04052 will operate between October 2 and November 29.
The service will run every Friday and Saturday and complete nine trips.
Anand Vihar–Jogbani Special
Train Nos 04007/04008 will connect Anand Vihar Terminal with Jogbani in Araria from October 2 to November 7.
The special train will depart from Anand Vihar every Saturday.
Anand Vihar–Bhagalpur Special
Train Nos 04061/04062 will operate between Anand Vihar and Bhagalpur from October 10 to November 26 ahead of Diwali and Chhath.
The service will run daily and pass through important stations including Gaya, Kiul and Jamalpur.
