Patna: WhatsApp is reportedly exploring a feature that could allow iPhone users to manage up to three accounts within a single app. However, an update from feature-tracking website WABetaInfo indicates that there are currently no immediate plans to release support for a third account.
Feature Still Under Development
WhatsApp introduced multi-account support on iPhones in June 2026. The feature currently allows users to operate two accounts within the same WhatsApp application.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp had been working on extending support beyond two accounts. The website initially reported that the company was testing a three-account setup but later clarified that the feature does not appear to be planned for an immediate release.
The reported design would allow users to identify accounts through their names, profile photos and phone numbers. The active account would be marked with a green tick.
Separate Data For Each Account
If support for three accounts is introduced, users would be able to keep each account’s data separate. Chat histories, notifications, media files, backups and privacy settings would remain associated with the respective accounts.
An “Add account” option would also remain available in the account selector, according to the report, potentially allowing users to add another profile.
No Beta Release Yet
The feature has not been made available to beta testers, meaning there is currently no confirmed timeline for a wider rollout.
WhatsApp could also change the feature before release, including the number of accounts it ultimately supports. For now, iPhone users can use two WhatsApp accounts within the same app.
