Patna: Rail passengers in Bihar will see significant changes in train operations from September 19 to October 4, with 383 trains scheduled to operate on diverted routes. Several services will also skip their scheduled stops at Patna Junction and other important stations.
The changes have been planned in view of pre-non-interlocking (pre-NI) and non-interlocking (NI) work in the Danapur and Sonpur divisions. Railway authorities have modified train routes and stoppages to facilitate the work while keeping passenger safety in consideration.
Patna-Mokama Section Among Affected Routes
The railway work covers sections around Rajendra Bridge, Hathidah Junction Upper, Tal and Rampur Dumra under the Danapur division. The Dinkar Gram Simaria railway section under the Sonpur division is also included in the work.
As a result, passengers travelling through Patna, Mokama, Barh, Barauni, Ara and Kiul, among other stations, may see changes in their regular train services.
Passengers travelling between September 19 and October 4 should check their individual train’s latest route, timing and stoppage information before beginning their journey.
Delhi-Kamakhya Express To Skip Patna
The Delhi-Kamakhya Express will operate through the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya–Gaya–Kiul route during the diversion period. It will not stop at Dildarnagar, Ara, Buxar, Patna, Patna Sahib and Mokama.
The Gandhidham-Kamakhya Express will take the Danapur–Patliputra–Hajipur–Shahpur Patori–Barauni route. Its scheduled stoppage at Patna Junction will not be available during the affected period.
Poorva Express, Amritsar-Howrah Also Rerouted
The Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express will run via Kiul–Sheikhpura–Bihar Sharif–Bakhtiyarpur. The train will skip its scheduled stops at Barh and Mokama.
The Amritsar-Howrah Express will also operate via Bakhtiyarpur–Bihar Sharif–Sheikhpura–Kiul and will not stop at Mokama.
Garib Rath To Skip Four Stations
The Jaynagar-Anand Vihar Garib Rath will also operate on an altered route. It will skip scheduled stops at Mokama, Patna Junction, Bakhtiyarpur and Barauni.
The service will instead operate through the Samastipur–Muzaffarpur–Patliputra–Danapur route.
Passengers Advised To Check Train Status
The diversion will remain in effect from September 19 through October 4. With routes and stoppages changing for several services, passengers should verify their train’s latest operational status before travelling.
Those planning to board or get down at Patna Junction, Mokama, Barh, Barauni and other affected stations should pay particular attention to any changes in their train’s scheduled stoppage.
