Motihari/Patna : Anger has spread among the legal community in Motihari following an alleged attack on advocate Kunal Kumar Tiwari while he was on his way to court. Lawyers staged a protest and demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the assault.
The advocates’ association has given the police administration 48 hours to arrest the accused, warning that a phased agitation will be launched if action is not taken within the stipulated period.
Advocate Attacked While Travelling to Court
According to the available information, Kunal Kumar Tiwari was leaving his home for court two days before the report when some people allegedly stopped him on the way and began assaulting him.
The attack reportedly happened suddenly, leaving the advocate with serious injuries.
Following the incident, he was taken to Sadar Hospital, where he is receiving treatment under medical supervision.
News of the assault reached the court premises, triggering anger and concern among fellow advocates.
Lawyers Demand Arrest and Security
Members of the legal fraternity described the alleged assault on an advocate travelling to court as a serious matter.
They demanded an impartial investigation, identification of all those involved and the prompt arrest of the accused.
The advocates also called for adequate security for the injured lawyer and sought assurances that appropriate action would be taken to prevent similar incidents.
Advocates Give Police 48-Hour Deadline
Advocate Kumar Pankaj Tiwari addressed a press conference regarding the incident and expressed concern over the assault on Kunal Kumar Tiwari.
He said the legal community was deeply angered by the incident and demanded the arrest of the named accused and those already identified during the investigation.
According to him, the administration has been given 48 hours to make the arrests.
He warned that the advocates’ association would begin a phased agitation if the demand was not met within the deadline.
Judicial Work Protests May Follow
The proposed agitation could include protests affecting judicial work, depending on the course of action decided by the advocates’ association.
The lawyers reiterated that swift police action was necessary to ensure justice for the injured advocate and address concerns about the safety of members of the legal community.
