Patna: The Bihar government has approved two self-financed residential projects in Bahadurpur, Patna, paving the way for the redevelopment of a dilapidated Bihar State Housing Board colony and development of another project on around 8.5 acres of Housing Board land.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra said the cabinet of Ministers has authorised the Bihar State Housing Board to sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with NBCC (India) Ltd. and take necessary decisions for implementation of the two projects.
Redevelopment Of Sector-6 Housing Colony
One of the projects involves the redevelopment of the deteriorated Bihar State Housing Board residential colony in Sector-6, Bahadurpur.
The project will be implemented on a self-financed basis, with the Housing Board authorised to enter into an MoU with NBCC and take further decisions related to its execution.
The redevelopment is intended to replace ageing residential infrastructure with modern and better-planned housing facilities.
8.5-Acre Project Near TV Tower
The second project will be developed on approximately 8.5 acres of Bihar State Housing Board land near the TV Tower in Bahadurpur, Sector-5.
The Council of Ministers has similarly authorised the Housing Board to sign an MoU with NBCC for the project and take decisions necessary for its implementation.
Both projects will be developed as self-financed initiatives, according to the minister.
Focus On Planned Residential Development
Mishra said the projects would promote modern and planned residential development while making better use of available land and housing assets.
He said redevelopment of dilapidated residential complexes would also contribute towards creating safer and improved living conditions for residents.
The minister said the government was committed to providing better-planned residential facilities and strengthening urban development in the state.
