Patna: Bihar is working closely with the Union Ministry of Communications to strengthen telecom infrastructure, improve digital connectivity and ensure the timely resolution of telecom-related issues, state Information Technology Minister Nitish Mishra said at India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi.
Mishra participated in the Centre-State Round Table Meeting at the event, along with senior officials from Bihar’s Information Technology Department.
He said discussions focused on expanding internet connectivity in rural areas, making telecom services more reliable and increasing the use of digital technology across key sectors, including healthcare, education and agriculture.
Bihar Developing Mechanism To Resolve Telecom Issues
Mishra said the state government was coordinating with the Union Ministry of Communications to develop and expand Bihar’s telecom sector.
An effective, phased mechanism has been established to strengthen telecom services and ensure that related issues are resolved promptly, he said.
The mechanism is intended to facilitate timely and coordinated action on matters affecting the state’s telecom infrastructure and services.
Rural Connectivity And Digital Services In Focus
The minister said discussions at the round-table meeting also covered ways to expand access to digital services and ensure that ordinary citizens receive greater benefits from improved internet connectivity.
He highlighted the importance of using telecommunications technology in healthcare, education and agriculture, particularly by making services more accessible to people across the state.
Bihar Aims To Build Future-Ready IT Ecosystem
Mishra said Bihar was giving priority to digital connectivity, technological innovation and emerging technologies as part of efforts to develop a robust, future-oriented IT ecosystem.
He added that the state was working to accelerate digital transformation, encourage innovation and expand citizen-centric digital services.
Mishra said Bihar was advancing these efforts in line with the Centre’s Digital India vision and under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
Bihar’s Role In India’s Digital Future
The minister said the potential of Bihar’s IT ecosystem, digital infrastructure, innovation landscape and emerging technologies was also discussed during India Mobile Congress 2026.
He said the state was working towards strengthening its contribution to India’s digital future through better connectivity, technological innovation and wider access to digital services.
India Mobile Congress 2026 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia also attended the event.
