Patna : The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) will organise ward-level property tax camps from October 12 to 16 to help residents access assessment, reassessment, correction and other related services.

The camps will be held in two phases across the New Capital and Patliputra circles, allowing property owners to get tax-related work done at designated local locations.

The civic body has also warned residents about complaints of fraud involving property tax payments, assessments and the issuance of fake receipts. It has urged property owners to use only authorised PMC counters, camps or the corporation’s official online portal.

Property Tax Camps: Dates And Locations

The camps will be organised in two phases, with residents able to visit the location designated for their ward.

First Phase: October 12–14

  • New Capital Circle: Near the Surya Temple at Kachchi Talab, Gardanibagh, Ward 16.
  • Patliputra Circle: Councillor’s office in Siddheshwar Nagar, Mainpura, behind Green Heritage, Ward 22C.

Second Phase: October 15–16

  • New Capital Circle: Community building at Chandpur Bela, along the main Patna–Gaya Line road, Ward 17.
  • Patliputra Circle: Near the Sudha milk parlour at Boring Road Crossing, Ward 23.

Residents can visit the designated camps to get their property tax assessed, reassessed or corrected, as well as access other related services.

PMC Warns Against Property Tax Fraud

The corporation said it had received complaints of people being cheated in the name of property tax payments and assessments, including cases involving fake receipts.

Property owners have been advised not to hand over money to unauthorised individuals. Payments and assessment-related work should be completed only through official PMC tax counters, designated camps or the corporation’s official portal.

Residents should also check the authenticity of the receipt issued after every payment.

How To Verify Property Tax Receipts Using QR Codes

According to PMC, official property tax receipts carry a QR code that links to property-related details, the order ID and a digital copy of the receipt available on the corporation’s official portal.

Residents can scan the QR code to verify the receipt. They can also visit an official tax counter or a designated camp to have the document checked.

The corporation has advised residents to seek verification if they notice any discrepancy or have doubts about a receipt’s authenticity.

List Of Official PMC Tax Counters

Residents can visit the following authorised counters for property tax-related services:

  1. PMC Headquarters: Ground floor, C-Block, Maurya Lok Complex.
  2. Azimabad Circle: Meena Bazar, Gulzarbagh, Patna City.
  3. Patna City Circle: Meena Bazar, Gulzarbagh, Patna City.
  4. Bankipur Circle: Community building, Ward 38, Kadamkuan Main Road, near Machhli Gali.
  5. Kankarbagh Circle: Near Tempo Stand, Kankarbagh.
  6. New Capital Circle: Room 5, opposite GST Bhawan, Veer Chand Patel Marg.
  7. Patliputra Circle: Opposite Sinha Library, Chhajjubagh Road, Chhajjubagh.

Property Tax Services Are Free

PMC has clarified that property tax payment, assessment, reassessment and correction services are provided free of charge.

Residents are required to pay only the applicable property tax and any penalty imposed under the rules. No additional service fee should be paid to an intermediary for these services.

The corporation has advised property owners to obtain an official receipt for every payment and use authorised channels to ensure that their tax-related work is completed transparently.
