Patna: Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh inspected the Mega Leather, Footwear & Accessories Park at Mahwal in Muzaffarpur on Monday, reviewing ongoing development work and assessing infrastructure requirements to improve the functioning of industrial units.

During the visit, Singh held discussions with officials on strengthening basic facilities, including roads, water supply and electricity. She directed them to ensure that infrastructure development meets the requirements of industrial units and that entrepreneurs do not face unnecessary difficulties in establishing businesses or carrying out production.

The inspection was attended by Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) Managing Director Naveen Kumar and Industries Department Director Mukul Kumar Gupta.

Minister Stresses Infrastructure Development

Singh emphasised regular monitoring of ongoing work to ensure the systematic development of the industrial park and the effective functioning of its facilities.

She said accelerating industrial development and creating a conducive environment for investors were priorities of the state government. Quality roads, electricity and water supply, she added, would strengthen entrepreneurs’ confidence, encourage investment, expand production and generate local employment opportunities.

BIADA Chief Inspects Kumarbagh Industrial Area

Separately, BIADA Managing Director Naveen Kumar inspected Phases I, II and III of the Kumarbagh Industrial Area to assess infrastructure conditions and identify problems affecting industrial units.

He reviewed road conditions and waterlogging and expressed displeasure over the issues, directing officials to take corrective measures on a priority basis. The measures are intended to improve movement within the industrial area and prevent disruptions to industrial operations.

Kumar also interacted with entrepreneurs operating units under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, including Sarv Enterprises and Kumar Textile, and heard their concerns. He instructed officials to resolve their grievances at the earliest.

Issues In Mahwal And Bela Industrial Areas

Officials also discussed problems affecting the Mahwal and Bela industrial areas. Kumar directed the concerned officials to identify the issues, take concrete steps to address them and complete the required work promptly.

He said BIADA had prioritised improving basic infrastructure and resolving entrepreneurs’ grievances within a stipulated timeframe. The authority would focus on roads, drainage and other essential facilities to support the smooth functioning of industrial units.

The state government and BIADA are working to strengthen infrastructure across industrial areas, address operational difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and create a more conducive environment for investment and employment generation.
