Children’s Film Festival Kicks Off in Lakhisarai on Children’s Day
Lakhisarai: The Children’s Film Festival was inaugurated on Thursday by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, at the Lakhisarai Museum in Balgudar, marking the beginning of the three-day event coinciding with Children’s Day. District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister, presenting him with a symbolic gift at the opening ceremony.
The festival, running from November 14 to 16—culminating on National Press Day—will take place at Raj Cinema, Mahadev Theatre, and the auditorium of Lakhisarai Museum.
On the first day, films such as The Silent Echo, Shera, Bittu, and Iqbal were screened at the museum, while Tare Zameen Par and I Am Kalam were also shown at Mahadev Talkies and Raj Cinema. Children from various schools, including government and private institutions, attended the festival, which aims to promote the themes of Nipun Bharat and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
Special guests at the event included actor Vikas Kumar, singer Satyam Anand, and film critic Deepak Dua. Several district officials, including the Superintendent of Police, Additional Collector, and Deputy Development Commissioner, were also present at the inauguration.
The festival celebrates both the artistic and educational value of cinema for young audiences, fostering creativity and awareness through film.
