Nalanda : Police have registered a case after a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and videos and photographs of the incident were reportedly circulated on social media in a village under Chandi police station limits in Nalanda district.

The complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother, who has accused a man from the Nagarnausa police station area of sexually exploiting her daughter. The accused was reportedly her business partner and was familiar with the family.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly took advantage of his association with the family to establish contact with the minor. He is also accused of recording objectionable videos and photographs and using them to threaten and repeatedly exploit the girl.

Police have registered an FIR, arranged a medical examination of the minor and begun searches at locations linked to the accused.

Accused Was Business Partner Of The Girl’s Mother

According to the complaint, the girl’s mother had been running a cattle-feed business since 2022, in which the accused was her business partner.

Because of this business association, the man reportedly visited the family’s home regularly and became acquainted with the minor.

The mother has alleged that the accused misused this familiarity to gain the girl’s trust and sexually assaulted her. He also allegedly recorded videos and photographs without the family’s knowledge.

The allegations are part of the complaint and are being investigated by the police.

Victim Allegedly Threatened And Exploited Repeatedly

The girl’s mother has alleged that the accused subsequently used the recorded material to threaten her daughter and subject her to repeated sexual exploitation.

According to the complaint, he allegedly warned the minor against telling her family about the incidents and threatened the family with serious consequences. The complaint also alleges that the girl was assaulted when she resisted.

The minor reportedly remained silent for a prolonged period because of fear and the threats allegedly made by the accused.

Family Learns Of Incident After Material Appears Online

The matter came to the family’s attention after the accused allegedly circulated videos and photographs on social media.

Following this, the girl’s mother approached Chandi police station and lodged a formal complaint against the accused.

The circulation of the material has added to the seriousness of the case, prompting police action. The investigation is examining the allegations of sexual assault, threats and the online circulation of the material.

Medical Examination Conducted, Police Search For Accused

Police registered the FIR and arranged a medical examination of the minor at Sadar Hospital on Monday.

Chandi police station in-charge Akhilesh Kumar Jha confirmed that a case had been registered and that further action was underway.

He said the medical examination had been completed and police teams were conducting raids at locations associated with the accused to secure his arrest.

The accused had not been arrested at the time of the report.

Police Investigation Underway

Police are investigating the allegations and attempting to trace the accused. Further action will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation and the findings of the medical examination.

The case has also brought attention to the misuse of digital material to threaten and exploit victims. The circulation of intimate material without consent can cause further harm, particularly when a minor is involved.

Authorities are pursuing the case, while the identity of the minor has been withheld to protect her privacy.
