Patna: The Bihar Tourism Department has received administrative approval for the development and beautification of Ramrekha Ghat in Buxar district with a budget allocation of ₹13.24 crore. The project aims to enhance the facilities at this significant religious site, attracting more devotees and tourists.
The development plan includes the construction of an Experience Centre, Mural Arts, a restaurant, and improved road infrastructure, all designed to highlight the rich history of Ramrekha Ghat in a modern context. Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra emphasised that Ramrekha Ghat holds historical importance dating back to the Ramayana era. It is believed to be the site where Lord Ram and his brothers were educated by Guru Vishwamitra.
Given the large number of devotees visiting the site, the Tourism Department has decided to revamp the area, focusing on both its development and beautification. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) will implement the project, with plans to complete it within the next 18 months, following the completion of formal procedures.
