Patna: Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited will establish an apparel manufacturing unit in Begusarai with an investment of Rs 35 crore, creating over 750 direct jobs, most of them for women, according to Bihar’s Industries Minister Nitish Mishra.
Mishra announced on Friday that the project will be located at the Industrial Growth Centre in Begusarai, where Phase-1 and Phase-2 plug-and-play buildings have already been allotted by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). The minister said the facility will provide employment to 750 workers—85–90% of them women—while generating indirect opportunities for another 100–125 people.
The formal announcement of the project will be made on September 12 in Begusarai. The initiative also includes plans for skill training in partnership with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Patna, aimed at preparing local youth for jobs in the textile industry.
Mishra described Aditya Birla’s entry into Bihar as a “milestone for the textile sector”, saying it would encourage other large investors to consider the state. He added that the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package (BIIPP) 2025 would further strengthen the textile industry and position Bihar as an emerging hub for apparel manufacturing.
