Patna: In a move aimed at strengthening specialised healthcare services for people living with HIV/AIDS, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna will inaugurate its newly established Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) Centre at Ayush Bhawan on May 21.
The new centre has been set up to provide comprehensive HIV care services under one roof, including counselling, diagnosis support, treatment and long-term follow-up care. Officials said the facility is expected to improve access to patient-centric HIV treatment services in Bihar and adjoining regions.
Joint Inauguration by AIIMS and BSACS Officials
The ART Centre will be jointly inaugurated by senior IAS officer and Project Director of the Bihar State AIDS Control Society, Sumit Kumar, along with the Executive Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna, Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal.

The programme is being organised under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Prakash and Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Kumar.
Faculty members, healthcare professionals, BSACS officials, staff members and invited guests are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony.
Focus on Accessible and Integrated HIV Care
According to national health estimates, millions of people in India continue to live with HIV, underlining the need for accessible treatment facilities, counselling services and stigma-free healthcare support.
Officials associated with the initiative said the new ART Centre will focus on strengthening early intervention and ensuring uninterrupted treatment support for patients. The institute also aims to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS through integrated healthcare delivery and awareness initiatives.
Located within the AIIMS Patna campus at Ayush Bhawan, the facility is being viewed as a major addition to Bihar’s healthcare infrastructure for HIV/AIDS management and support services.
