Patna: The Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) has announced the detailed schedule for the Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2026, bringing clarity for lakhs of aspirants preparing for government jobs in the state.
The recruitment drive will fill 4,236 vacancies under the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, the Inspectorate of Prison and Correctional Services, and the Transport Department.
According to the Board, the written examination will be conducted on June 14 and June 17, 2026, at designated centres across all 38 districts of Bihar.
Examination to Be Conducted in Two Shifts
The examination on both dates will be held in two shifts.
The first shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second shift will take place from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM.
Officials said preparations related to security arrangements and crowd management have been intensified in view of the expected participation of lakhs of candidates.
Reporting Time Mandatory for Candidates
The Board has issued strict instructions regarding reporting time at examination centres.
Candidates appearing in the morning shift must report between 08:00 AM and 09:00 AM. For the afternoon shift, candidates will be allowed entry between 01:00 PM and 02:00 PM.
No entry will be permitted after the prescribed reporting time.
Exam Centre Details to Be Available from June 1
Candidates will be able to check details related to their examination date and allotted district centre from June 1, 2026, through the official website of the Board.
To access the information, candidates will need to log in using their registration number and other required credentials.
The e-admit card will be released separately and will include details such as examination centre, reporting time, shift, and candidate information.
Admit Card and Identity Proof Compulsory
The Board has clarified that entry to the examination centre will be allowed only on the basis of a valid e-admit card.
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo identity proof.
Accepted identity documents include Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, and Passport.
OMR Instructions Issued for Candidates
The recruitment examination will be conducted using OMR-based answer sheets.
The Board has advised candidates to carefully read all instructions before filling the answer sheet. Incorrect marking or failure to follow the prescribed guidelines may lead to disqualification of the OMR sheet.
Candidates have also been advised to practise filling OMR sheets before appearing for the examination.
Electronic Gadgets Prohibited at Centres
The Board has imposed a complete ban on electronic devices inside examination centres.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and similar gadgets will not be permitted.
Officials warned that candidates found violating the rules may face action under the Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
