Patna: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna has concluded a two-day in-house workshop on reservation policy, roster writing and recruitment rules, aimed at strengthening transparency, statutory compliance and administrative efficiency in the institute’s recruitment and personnel management processes.
The workshop, held on July 17 and 18 in collaboration with the National Institute for Professional Training and Development (NIPTD), brought together faculty members, doctors, administrative officers and staff for training on the implementation of reservation policies under Government of India guidelines.
Focus On Reservation And Recruitment
The programme covered constitutional provisions relating to reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and persons with disabilities, along with recruitment rules, appointment procedures and the preparation of post-based rosters.
Participants also received training on determining reservation quotas, vacancy calculations, reservation in promotions, de-reservation procedures, the role of liaison officers, audit mechanisms and roster recasting through practical exercises.
Interactive Training Sessions
The sessions were led by Dr Pankaj KP Shreyaskar, who conducted lectures and practical demonstrations on the legal, administrative and procedural aspects of reservation policy. The training included interactive discussions, case studies and hands-on exercises.
Valedictory Ceremony
The workshop concluded with a certificate and prize distribution ceremony attended by AIIMS Patna executive director Prof (Brig) Dr Raju Agarwal, deputy director (administration) Nilotpal Bal and dean (academics) Prof Punam Prasad Bhadani.
Addressing participants, Agarwal said effective implementation of reservation policies and systematic roster management are essential for ensuring transparency, equity and compliance with statutory provisions in public institutions. He encouraged participants to apply the training in their respective roles to strengthen the institute’s administrative systems.
Capacity-Building Initiative
According to AIIMS Patna, the workshop forms part of its efforts to build institutional capacity through regular training programmes. Participants described the sessions as practical and informative, particularly the case studies and hands-on exercises, which they said would help improve the management of reservation rosters and recruitment processes.
