Patna: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is set to join Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar for the INDIA bloc’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ on August 28, marking a united opposition front against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The alliance move comes as opposition leaders intensify efforts to expose alleged irregularities and mass deletions in the voter lists, rallying public support across districts.
Akhilesh’s participation in the yatra signals deeper collaboration among INDIA bloc partners and is expected to further mobilize grassroots activists in Bihar. The yatra, which is covering multiple districts, features public dialogues, mass outreach, and door-to-door awareness campaigns guiding voters on verifying their registration and addressing wrongful deletions.
Leaders said the joint appearance of Akhilesh with Rahul and Tejashwi will boost momentum for the opposition’s campaign ahead of the assembly polls. The bloc aims to position itself as a champion of electoral integrity and voter inclusion, challenging the procedural roll-out of the SIR by the Election Commission.
Events surrounding the yatra will include collective rallies, help desks for voter queries, and social media campaigns, with all three leaders expected to address meetings in key urban and rural centers. The participation of Akhilesh Yadav adds weight to the yatra’s statewide appeal, with multi-party coordination set to expand the alliance’s reach during the crucial election period.
