Patna: Actor Akshay Kumar has said that Bhojpuri stands stronger in cultural expression when compared with Hollywood, during the launch event of a new song from the upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle.
The statement came as the actor attended the promotional event for the film’s latest track, which also features Bhojpuri actor-singer Akshara Singh.
Remarks at the Song Launch
Speaking at the event, Akshay Kumar said Bhojpuri culture reflects India’s diversity and musical richness.
He remarked, “Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood. I am the one who said this because they would not understand such songs. They have never seen or heard this kind of expression.”
He further added that India’s strength lies in its cultural variety, noting that songs emerge from multiple regional traditions across the country.
About The Song
The newly released track titled Ghis Ghis Ghis from Welcome to the Jungle was released on May 25. The song features a rustic, rural setting with a high-energy Bollywood presentation style.
The opening lyrics include a Bhojpuri line, reflecting its regional flavour and folk-inspired tone.
Akshara Singh’s Participation
Akshara Singh appears alongside Akshay Kumar in the song. She said the opportunity came through choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who personally approached her for the project.
She recalled her initial surprise at being selected for a major Bollywood production and said the encouragement from Ganesh Acharya boosted her confidence to take on the role.

Akshara Singh described the track as the film’s introductory number, designed to introduce characters and set the tone of the narrative.
She said the song carries a vibrant, colourful and commercial Bollywood aesthetic, with a strong focus on energetic choreography.
The entire song was reportedly filmed within a single day. According to her, the shoot began in the morning and concluded by around 9–10 pm under the direction of choreographer Ganesh Acharya, known for his fast-paced shooting style.
