Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bihar on Thursday evening for a three-day visit ahead of the state’s upcoming assembly elections. In Patna, he met with senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officials to review preparations and gather feedback from local leaders on the party’s election strategy.
Shah is scheduled to begin his campaign on Friday in Chhapra, where he will address a public rally in Taraiya, Saran district. The rally will target voters in the Taraiya and Amanour assembly constituencies, with senior leaders from the National Democratic Alliance also expected to attend. The BJP has fielded Janak Singh from Taraiya and Krishna Kumar Mantu from Amanour.
This marks Shah’s first public meeting in Bihar since the announcement of the 2025 assembly election dates. He is expected to continue holding rallies across multiple constituencies in support of BJP candidates.
Following the Chapra rally, Shah will return to Patna to participate in an intellectuals’ conference at Gyan Bhavan and meet with party officials overseeing the election campaign. He will also provide guidelines to BJP workers before concluding his visit and returning to Delhi on Saturday evening.
