Patna: The Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) is set to field candidates in all 153 assembly constituencies in Bihar after negotiations with the BJP over seat-sharing failed, party president Om Prakash Rajbhar has announced.
Rajbhar, who also serves as Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Panchayati Raj and Minority Welfare, expressed frustration over the lack of an alliance with the BJP in Bihar. Speaking in a video released on Thursday, he said the party would consider withdrawing candidates only if the BJP allocated three or four seats to the BSP.
“The NDA’s Bihar unit had earlier suggested a possible foothold for our party, but promises made during previous elections and discussions with senior BJP leaders, including JP Nadda and Amit Shah, were not honoured,” Rajbhar said. He noted that attempts to form an alliance through Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma, and Dayashankar Singh had also failed.
Highlighting the SBSP’s influence among the Prajapati community, Rajbhar added that the party would now contest in partnership with the Bhagidari Party. “Each assembly constituency has at least 5,000 to 10,000 Prajapati voters,” he said, stressing that the move would not affect their alliances in Uttar Pradesh.
