Chhapra: Passengers travelling between Bihar and Delhi will soon get a new train option. The Indian Railways has announced that a bi-weekly Amrit Bharat Express will run from Chhapra to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. The decision has been taken keeping the convenience of passengers in mind, and the train will start regular service later this month.
The new train will operate with two trips in each direction every week. Train number 15133, the Chhapra–Anand Vihar Express, will leave Chhapra at 10pm every Monday and Thursday, reaching Delhi the next evening at 10.10pm. On the other hand, train number 15134 will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 12.20am every Wednesday and Saturday, and arrive back in Chhapra the following night at 10.50pm.
The train will pass through many important towns on its way. From Chhapra it will stop at Siwan, Thawe, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Barabanki, and Kanpur Central before reaching Delhi. On the return journey, it will follow the same route, ensuring people from smaller towns also get direct and faster connectivity to the capital. Railway officials said this service would especially help passengers in Siwan and Thawe.
The Amrit Bharat Express has been built with new facilities to make travel safer and more comfortable. Even though it is a non-AC premium class train, it includes features like mobile charging ports, modern lighting, disabled-friendly toilets, and a fire detection system. It will also run on air springs for smoother rides. The train will have 22 coaches in total, including 11 general coaches, eight sleeper class coaches, two luggage-cum-guard coaches, and one pantry car to serve food during the journey.
Public Relations Officer Ashok Kumar said this train will give passengers a better experience and meet their needs for affordable yet comfortable travel. He added that the service is another step by the Railways to improve connectivity between Bihar and Delhi, and it will save passengers both time and hassle.
